We are launching a new initiative in our parish called Emmaus Evening beginning this coming Sunday, November 14, after the 5:30 Mass (see the event listing here). We've started these evenings, hosted by our Knights of Columbus, in the spirit of Luke 24:13-35. After the Lord's passion, the two disciples were walking on the road to Emmaus and Jesus appeared to them, but they only recognized Him when they sat down for a meal. We pray that these meals may be a time of fellowship, recognizing Jesus in our own and in each others' lives. The event is free, but we ask you to please consider a donation if you can since support is essential to keep these evenings going (suggested contribution is $5 a person). This will be a regular opportunity for faith and fellowship following the 5:30 p.m. Mass and we plan on having it monthly.
If you are away from family, if you are new to the area and looking to build relationships, or if you’re simply looking for a meal that you don’t have to cook yourself, join us for the first of what we hope will be many Sunday suppers for our parish family. Please bring a friend, especially if you know someone who might be living alone or struggling with the isolation that so many have faced this past year and a half.
